I feel an Allman Brothers show, A dTb show, a DB&GS show is a PERFECT place for children!!! My children have experienced Phil and Friends live, they loved it, they especially loved watching the crowd. I saw the Allman Brothers for the first time when I was 9 years old. I commend my parents for taking me into that atmosphere, reason being, they prepared me for what I may see, they didn't exaggerate either. At the time my mother was 53 years old, my Dad was 44..... their age never stopped them from doing what they enjoyed, nor did having a child deter them. I've loved music for as long as I can remember, they were teaching me the ways of the world in technicolor :). The one thing I remember about that day is not the Allmans or Dead particularly, but the way my parents danced with me and enjoyed themselves. People around us were half naked, smoking pot and no telling what else, but they weren't bothering anyone. I've taken my kids to many concerts, they were very young when they started, they loved it. Their Dad and I prepared them for things they may see. In Charlotte a few years ago, someone lit up in front of Drew, he and I changed places because it bothered him (no, I didn't smoke)......if we want to raise good children, we need to teach them the ways of the world, let them know what's out there, tell them what's right and wrong. School shouldn't be the only place our kids get an education, it starts at home. So I commend Pam, Ron_e and Beth, Gary, Neil G and Neil M...Ron Currens, Lana, JimB and even Brent.....he drags his boys, Dino and Scotty to as many concerts as he can...and we all know those two aren't the best behaved at times :D....seriously, if you want to take your child to a concert, do it! Just remember the ear protection and if you're taking a child to a Panic show, maybe some knee and elbow pads and a hockey mask. Peace
