and as for my trip to NYC.... well.. look at my Avatar and that is how i look right now.. I haven't slept yet from last nite... yup...the post show gathering was too much fun and i had too little time before my 6:55am LAGuardia flight so... Brofan said i'd be better not trying to sleep for 2 hours & hope i'd wake up somehow... to make the flight... so a shower and hot coffee at 4am was the order fo the day as i sensed the inevitable we all hate to embrace at the climax of another great adventure... so as i stood there in the airport being nearly strip searched as they lightened my departure wardrobe of belt, shoes, hat, windshirt... i wondered.. IS IT ME?? or do they see the ABB Beacon Marquee dancing over my head... or was it just my eyes that looked liked two tomatoes in a glass of buttermilk.. i thought for a monent i was gonna get a free prostate screening.. and how i wished i had Brofan's flatulence at that moment... so i stumbled onto the plane now donning sun glasses as Blue Skies were beckoning a new day rising from the east... my eyelid felt like sledgehammers too heavy to lift.. i contemplated sleep and began to doze .. but "no can do Skip"..luckily... there is what sounds like a 6ft 200lb hampster sitting behind me tearing up a newspaper to make a bed...either that or a Graduate of Evelyn Woodhead Sped Reading Course who had too much caffeine as well... just as well... Brofan had me so paranoid about my snoring that i figured if i did fall asleep and snore... the plane would explode... so i drifted back to thought of the weekend and this Schitt eating grin just curled from one ear to the other.. all i saw were so many smiles... all weekend... All you had to do was step back and look around that hospitality suite or should i say "Sweet" and there were groups of Peachheads...Laughing, Smiling, Hugging, Farting(just Rich really).., and that summed it up.. no matter who walked in...as Mitch so aply stated... old friends meeting the first time... and old friends reuniting... I enjoyed both the shows...hightlight of the first show for me were hearin Come&Go Blues for the first time since the 70's.. and YDLM, AWTNM and a BLISTERING Rockin Horse into Gamblers' Roll... that Band just flat out smokes on Rockin Horse EVERY time i hear it... and GAMBLER's was equal with Gregg's voice so strong... i thought i was great to hear the new tunes and the new instrumental should be called the Peach Barrel Jump.. I just love the the way it starts out and ends...THAT BEAT!! Butch, Marc, Jaimoe and Oteil just pound out a rhythym that has your body sayin "Feets don't Fail me NOW!!"... the kind of sound that could turn a telephone pole into a live wire... the saturday nite show was even better imho... openin with Hot Lanta into Statesboro... Desdemona...Derek & Warren tradin licks into Hoochie Coochie Man.. and then the 2nd set openin w/DWYNM-AMCTB..Gregg so strong...and Trouble No More just ripped.. Warren doing "Woman cross the river"...and a stronger "High Cost.." in to Rockin Horse into Stormy Monday...and then Whippin Post.. WOW... ok I enjoyed Revival but thought for sure they roll into something like One Way Out but no matter... i was all smiles... Thank-you ABB for sharing your music and for providing therapy for my soul. cause i need lots of it!! i can't thank everyone enough for the shared adventures but i'm gonna try... the Hospitality Sweeties put up with all the knuckleheads and laid out a great spread for all.. Jackie - thanks so much! and ~best wishes~wink~.. Smiley aka Jeanne thanks for leading the "Out of Towners" on our tour of Ground Zero w/o incident.. Terri...next time..you have head out my way..."Shoot the Moon right between the eyes I'm screamin.. take me back to sunny countrysides" and the rest of the "sweeties" Stacv, Peg(jelloshots!)
