From The ABB Listserve: I spoke to someone last night who works at Merriweather and she said "At the beginning of the season this year they said it was the last year for this venue. Now things are up in the air." This is our chance to save this wonderful venue. Granted it's old but they still pull a lot of great bands, The Allman Brothers, Phil Lesh & Friends, The Dead, Widespread Panic. Not to take anything away from Nissan Pavillion but in my opinion Merriweather is the better of the 2, not only is it closer, to my house anyway but the sound is richer, fuller. Just listen to the tapes from any bands at this venue and you'll know what I'm talking about. Sending a letter is better than an email. With a letter they have something in their hand with a return address. The more people who get behind this the more likely it can be saved. I'll post this message the the Allman list and Emule. If anyone is on Widespread or the dead list it would be greatly appriciated to have this email posted to their lists. Below is the address and fax # to send letters. Fax: 410-730-9085 Address: Merriweather Post Pavilion P.O. Box 1112, Columbia, MD 21044 I'll be sending my letter off Monday. Gary Bringman
