Hey Gang. Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. A few folks have asked me about the Lansing show tomorrow night. After giving it some careful consideration, I think the best place for a little pre-show meet & greet is at a restaurant/bar called "The Nut House". It is located at 420 E. Michigan Ave. (at Business Loop 96) in downtown Lansing, across the street from the baseball stadium, Oldsmobile Park. They're phone number is 517-484-6887.
The show is at Adado Riverfront Park, which is just north of the resataurant and within walking distance. Karl Denson starts at 7:00 PM and if I recall, they are pretty good about being on time, which is good as it should give the ABB time to play more than 2 hours. I would guess they could play from about 8:30 until the 11:00 curfew. It is general admission and there are no seats so bring a lawn chair or blanket if you want to sit. If you plan on taping the show, you might want to call ahead as I think they might not allow it.
If the ABB aren't your bag, you can also catch 3 Doors Down, who are playing at the same time. In fact, a few people from around here that are a tad younger than me commented that 3 Doors Down was the only good show of the entire festival. Sometimes I forget there's a college down the street.
Unfortunately, there is also a baseball game that night, plus the other shows so there might be quite a few people in the area so you might want to allow yourself some extra time to get there. I will try to be at the Nut House between 5:00 and 5:30 on the patio. I probably don't stick out in a crowd, so I'll find some gaudy ABB attire to wear. Stop by and say "hey". Just go outside to the patio. Oh, and if anyone needs directions, let me know. There are lots of poorly designed one-way streets around there.
