Speaking of SPDB, his band played our local club last night and flat tore the place up. Not a thing commercial about these guys. Highly talented men, playing from the heart for their own entertainment. Sound familiar? Brent was quite emotional after coming off stage. Whipping Post was the finale. He had to take a few moments to compose himself. He said there are times when he "becomes" Duane, and I believe it. Several people made comments like, "These guys are as good as the Allman Brothers." Now I wouldn't go quite that far, but it is amazingly close. Brent's band will be opening for the Derek Trucks Band here on Oct. 17, the day before the annual Jam for Duane. Although this show hasn't been updated on the DTB site yet, it's on Pollstar and on the DTB email alert.
