WHAT DO THE ALLMAN BROTHERS AND OZZY OSBOURNE HAVE IN COMMON? READ BELOW First, thanks to Jeanne for the Rock and Wrap it Up mention (and the donation) and a special thanks to LinnieXX for becoming our newest volunteer! On Thursday, June 12 the 3rd annual RAWIU awards dinner/benefit will be held at Pier 60 Chelsea Piers at West 23rd Street in New York City and the Allman Brothers Band will receive the Lena and Joseph Mandelbaum Humanitarian Award. Accepting the award for the ABB and performing a short acoustic set will be Warren Haynes. The ABB and Bert Holman have been big supporters of this organization. Last year's winner of the Humanitarian award were Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne who have also done much for Rock and Wrap as well. Tickets for the dinner, music and awards are $500 (a portion of which is tax deductible I believe). Work commitments will probably keep me away, but just the chance to see and hear Warren in that setting would be such an experience, that I'm really going to try to get there (we volunteers get to go at a reduced price)...Linnie has already started with the arm twisting!!!!
