Good ol' Sunday morning bells are ringing everywhere. I've had a week off and I'm doing a little reflecting. Let's see last night caught Skynyrd on Austin City Limits then followed by John Pisseralli (sp?) trio and the Mark O'Conner Hot Trio on Mountain Stage talk about an eclectic night of music.
I have certainly sympatized with Libby during this period of mourning for her. My fathers health has deteriorated to where it's a struggle for him to get up and around. He has a building out back that has twenty years of accumulated junk. My brother flew in from Wyoming and together we hauled off 4-6 thousand lbs of stuff. I have the receipts. We painted the building. Hopefully it will stand for another twenty years. I'm probably being wishful here. To fully appreciate the pack rat my old man is; if someone called him when he was healthy and said," Guy I've got a ten pound bag of doo doo do you want it?" He say,"Man yeah, don't throw it away. I'll be right over to get it."
Goliath's birthday has been a cause of celebration around my house as well. Do y'all get the felling that there isn't much to do in Mooresville? Seriously much of my vacation time has been spent reconnecting with my family. If there was a lull around here or more often than not the musical soundtrack while working around the house was the music of the ABB. If it wasn't a commercial release, 9 out of 10 times it came from Goliath. Thanks Bro. Happy birthday.
Through it all the GB has offered a little respite from the work and a chance to connect, laugh, cry, etc. with some interesting people. For a moment I was going to say "like minded" but I know better. Kind of a chance rebelieve in humanity. You know what I mean? Tomorrow I'll be right back in the not-so-nice-down-right-evil-world of trying to make ends meet. So while I'm feeling mellow, I want to wish all y'all a good day and may God bless each and everyone of you. Peace.
