A 36 degree chill factor encouraged me to take a break from the field and check in on the ol' GB. (It's too nippley to hunt, set aside work!) I've taken my kid to shows for nearly 20 years ......... his first was only 2 tunes. Of course, he WAS only 2 days out of the hospital, so his attention span was pretty short. The band we went to see immediately launched into One Way Out and Statesboro Blues for him, though. They knew why we were there. He has plenty of great memories from childhood, and his taste in music has always been a bit 'above' his peers, if you will. Plus, he was always the coolest kid in class, and I was known as the coolest Daddy in the whole school. The best advice I can give - a repeat of what I've said before - take earplugs! I didn't, and I'll always regret it. Our kids don't deserve what many of us have done to ourselves. They're real cheap, and can be found in most sporting goods, automotive, and outdoor power equipment departments. We also sell them at the Arena (for 2 bucks a pair), and I usually keep a pair or two in my pocket for nice people. It's rare that I don't find a parent with a frightened child out in the concourse during an event. Not only concerts - hockey games, arena football, and motor sports are pretty rich in decibles, too. Well, my nose has quit runnin' and my ears have quit feelin' brittle. Here I goooooooo ...............
