Sure was good talking to Bill Ector today. Good news is sooo welcome! We will know in a couple of days about the pathology reports on the tumor but the doc thinks it is benign. He's pretty wiped out today from the surgery but tomorrow Bill will be rockin' to the ABB at the Beacon! We're thinking of pulling a practical joke on him and sending a nurse strip 'o gram to his room when it's about time for his sponge bath! Regarding the post on Hammerin' Hank's 715 - I was there! Was also interviewed by the Atlanta paper about it a few years ago while I attended a game with Hophead on the 25th anniversary. It sure was cold that night. After the home run a lot of the crowd left. Dan Matrazzo (Dr. Dan) wrote a song referencing Hank on his Dan on the Moon CD called "Uncle Hank". The phrase that keeps repeating itself in the funky song is "you bad Hank"!! A good friend of mine also caught the 700th home run ball. He was given 700 silver dollars by the Braves organization for it. This was before memorabilia was priced out of sight! Don't you know he wished he had that ball now?! JNB
