:fanfare: Happy Birthday Red Dog :birthday:
:jump: :jump: :jump:
I spoke to Red Dog today and he says to tell
everyone that he is doing well. He is working
on his golf game and "adjusting to his new lifestyle".
He sends his love to everyone.
Just got back from the DVD shows. Went the first night with TerriB and it was kind of weird with all the cameras. They removed the AA front row seats and the BB row was left empty. Security was very tight, no guests sitting on stage. The guys seemed very aware of the cameras Tuesday but didn't seem to notice them on Wednesday. They were so hot Wednesday, the best show I have ever seen/heard them perform. Gregg's singing came from somewhere way deep down inside. Just blew me away! Everyone was so on.
Butch came out for the encore and spoke about Duane and Tom Dowd. He dedicated the next song and all their love to Duane and Tom and they broke into Layla. (yep, I was crying) They tore it up! Tuesday they did alot of material from the new CD and Wednesday they did more older classic material along with a mixture of new CD material. The horns played both nights. Gregg sang the sh*t out of that Sam Cooke song last night. I hope that makes it to the DVD. I know it is not an ABB song, but if you were fortunate enough to hear them perform this you may feel the same as I do. Desdemona is another one that just blows me away. Last nights Dreams was real gutsy. The whole night was just one peak after another. I have been to some really great ABB shows, but this was by far the absolute best show I have experienced. Derek and Warren were smokin'. Oteil was wearing Karen (BigSixPeachHead) and Lynn's necklace. You will see it in the DVD!!! That is soooo cool. Oteil cooked and Butch, Jaimoe and Mark kept us all moving all night long!
Thanks ABB for keeping it live and on the road for us to experience. Keep the vibe alive.
Hugs and love to all :inlove:
BTW...
Had the pleasure of meeting and catching the Matt Barranti Band Tuesday night. If you ever get the chance do get out to see these guys. They drove all the way from Pittsburgh, performed and then drove all the way home.
Also ran into Mark May Wednesday and spoke briefly to him. He said he's been working hard and would like to put something together so that he can play in NYC during the Beacon run next year. That would be real nice.
