How I Spent My Beacon Vacation: Where do I start? It hasn't ended yet as I am preparing to travel back to NYC with TerriB for the DVD shows. Thanks from the bottom of my heart to gpm for traveling up here to share the shows and friendship and some very sick laughs. If I had to choose between the music or the people I do think the music would be secondary at this point. The people I have had the good fortune of meeting are the best folks on this planet. Who would think you could sit in front of a computer and connect with these people and then when you meet them they are even kinder than they are on screen? Well that is how it is. The music is great too of course. The coolest part about going to the Beacon run is you can walk down the street in New York City and run into someone you know. You can walk into a diner and run into someone you know. People congregate from all over the world! It's fabulous! Gailagain, it was soooo cool to be sitting next to you and your husband at the show Saturday. Very funny once we finally figured out who each other was. Libby, Carol, Randy, Jim, Jacquie, Terri, Stacy, Linda, Sari, Jeanne, DelDavis (Bjart from Norway), Dino, Scotty, Brent, Johnny, Lammie, Doug, Buka, Rich, Stephanie, John, Scott, Karen, Lynn, Lana, Shey, Robert, Eddie, Rita, Sang, Corny, Marsha, Mitch, Leah Marie, Chuck and a gazillion more wonderful smiling faces... it was so great to give y'all a hug. Those that I met for the first time, it was a real pleasure and you kind folks that I have had the pleasure of meeting before, it was great to see you again. I know I have not included everyone's name, that just isn't possible. I am sorry if I have not included your name in this post. Sherry, we missed you this year. Thanks for doing such a special job on the name tags. The Hospitality Sweeties, the LamJam and the West Coast Sushi Fest were among the highlights as well as the taxi ride to the Empire State Building, the lightening on top of the Empire State Building and the group tour over to Strawberry Fields. Thank you to my husband Frank for putting up with me. A very special thank you to Kirk West for his kindness and hospitality and Joe Bell for his very special kindness. Thank you to Lana and Rowland for putting this forum together and giving us all a place to meet and chat. Your vision is has brought us all together. And thank you to the Allman Brothers for keeping the vibe alive and on the road. Love y'all :inlove:
