The album also features a cover of the Rolling Stones' "Heart of Stone" and the 12-minute jam "Instrumental Illness." The set was recorded without original guitarist Dickey Betts, who was recently replaced by Warren Haynes, founder of Gov't Mule. The guitarist has been a frequent contributor to the band for much of the past decade.
"We'd been having some trouble in the band with personnel," vocalist Greg Allman said in a statement. "These sorts of things just don't inspire you to write new stuff, but when Warren came back the music just came spilling out. Songwriting with Warren made it really fun again." The group will launch a summer tour in June, with its annual residency at New York's Beacon Theater in progress now (March 13-18, 20-22, 25, 26, 28, 29).

Long Live Berry!
