I absolutely love the new CD - HTN. I've been listening to the songs live for quite some time and was currious about how I would like the studio versions. I am very impressed and excited.
"BEST SINCE PEACH?" I think so for at least one reason. No "filler" or "clunkers" as I have heard people say and it is true. There are songs on Brothers & Sisters and nearly every other studio album sice that I like better than some on HTN. But since Eat A Peach there have been songs on every album that I tend to skip over. Some I've come to like more over the years and I don't really dislike any of them but I may rather hear the next song. NOT SO WITH HTN. It is all Great. I have favorites:
Old Before My Time
High Cost
Desdemona
Heart of Stone
Man I could list em all I guess but no desire to skip any of them and that alone makes it as good if not better (for me) than anything since Peach.
Complaints? Naah, too hard to think of any but I am curious about the ending to Woman Accross the River. Live it has such a dramatic and cool ending and instead on the studio version it fades out. I wish Warren would tell us why just because I am curious.
Also I have heard comments about separating Warren & Derek (Left & Right). Haven't they always separated the 2 Guitars? I was sure they did with DA & DB. Anyway what makes me curious here is that I believe I heard that Warren is left & Derek is right. That seems backwards to me. As you look at the stage Derek is left & Warren is right. Seems like you would like to have it the same when you face your stereo.
Pretty minor things to be curious about. This is dam good material and should be getting some air time on the radio.
My 2 cents
