When Derek was in SoCal a couple weeks ago I asked him what he did during his time off. He lit up when he talked about this fishing trip. I can only imagine sittin in a boat with those knuckleheads for a day. He also had some pretty funny things to say about the Grammys that he had to fly back for, but that is another story.
Went and saw Chris Robinson at the Troubador in Hollywood last night. Wasn't expecting much (The album is a 2.5 star out of 4 in my opinion), but he blew me away. Went on at 9:10 and played till 12:45 pm with a 15 minute break. All covers and new stuff (no Crowes). You gotta appreciate a guy that goes back to the bars and doesn't rest on a catalog of tunes to sell tix. Well worth the $20.
