I remember something to that effect also....... is this not the Anthology that was bootleg and calls were made to round it up? In my opinion a song or collection of songs should belong to the individual who wrote them. This is a discussion I have had many times with peers. As a songwriter and performer I'd be upset if my work was being sold commercially after I had requested it pulled. I don't remember all the facts regarding this particular Anthology, but if Gregg Allman, as the artist didn't want it distributed then I feel he has the right to say so. However, if it's out there to BE bought, as a fan with an extra $80, it'd have to be left up to that consumers discretion. Trading would also be discretionary as technically it IS a commercial release. I wouldn't burn it. As for the lawsuit, I'm sorry that it was thrown out of court due to SOL (pardon the pun)..... there again, it's proof the record companies hold all the aces....an artists hands are tied once they sign that dotted line with any record company other than their own, it's truly unfortunate for the ABB and their legion of fans. There is no heart and soul in any record company. What could happen if these recordings are ever released by Universal? Could that happen? Sure, look at Decade of Hits. Hi to Chris, Randy, Bluefox, Bird, Corny,GPM....Hey Chris.....I'm just walking along, enjoying my journey, no particular destination in mind, that is what's happened to me, thanks for asking bro' 🙂 Peace
