2008? How is that possible? I only knew my pal Bill over the last 8-9 years of his life and not nearly as well as many people here.....but boy did I learned a lot from that guy. We've all heard that idea of think about your funeral...who would be there and what would you like for them to say about you? What would it say about how you lived your life? Well, I've never been to anything like Bill Ector's memorial service. It was in a large & full high school theatre. Local politicians, high school football coaches, neighbors, ex-in laws, famous musicians, co-workers, childhood friends, his kid's friends, his kindred spirit musical friends....all there to pay tribute to the man. He didn't leave his mark with massive buildings or positions of power, but he made a as big of a mark as any of them in his humble way. It was truly an inspirational (and sad) day. Thanks for posting that write up. It was great to read.
