and my sweet Kevin 9 years Viet Nam era , kept stateside (thank God!) seeing how his Father , a WWII Vet had passed from war related injuries , his older brother was already overseas serving, and Mama Belle , a Veterans' widow was living in FLA, the US Armey kept Kevin close to Mama Belle, he served his years in GA, followed by several more years, 9 in all, serving in the National Guard in Cadillac ,Michigan, Naugatuck, CT and Watertown ,NY.. Seems like another lifetime ago *sigh* Brother Brent, you would have LOVED Michael Allman and his band yesterday! He has really grown and matured since we last saw him at your Jam For Duane, he was just fabulous, we'll have to get him back to Bama again soon. Gregory should be so proud. Frankly, I can't think of anyone better to play Gregg in his upcoming movie, keep it real and keep the $ in the Family.. I swear I bet Uncle Duane smiles down everytime Michael sings.. and Devon plays..Devon so looks like Duane..Galadrielle so looks like Mama A.. Berry Duane and Duane Betts to round things out.. how cool would that be? While Michael was singing, the thought crossed my mind, how we all pine for DA, can you imagine losing so great an Uncle ? an American tragedy, for sure. Deb, you too would have loved his show.. I know Michael stresses not to ride on Dad's coattails, but his resemblance to the old man, and that Allman voice! good God ya'll, talk about a chip off the old block. it was like turning back the hands of time. Michael's own tunes are wonderful too..If you don't already have Michael Allman's Hard Labor Creek cd, check it out! Many thanks to Michael, who is one of the sweetest, most down to earth men ever, his gorgeous gal Janie, as sweet as Micheal, and his rock that keeps him grounded, and of all people, we finally ran into and got to meet Capn 🙂 Capn, hope your surgery goes well, is successful , and thanks for the friendship. Thanks to the Marines and ABATE MC of CC , who collected and will distribute the Toys 4 Tots to needy children this Christmas...what a wonderful way to spend a Sunday , by the Grace of God.
