Love to DDT..
Fine Thanksgving, lots of work.
I must be getting old..it didnt used to seem like so much work in younger days, but so very thankful for how many Thanksgivings our McFamily has spent together at our house...32 , truly a blessing...Missing Grandma Belle and Heather. Now Grandchildren sit in their chairs...My Mom is now 90 years old..Ornery holy Irish terror as ever.
With the holidays upon us, a bit of extra love going out to the Seaman Family...
Rainy, sorry to read about the devastation, for many it wil never be the same 🙁
Kevin and I have been talking about taking the Grandbabies for a summer vacation to the Island, silly as it may seem seeing how we have beautiful Gulf Beaches and Disney and all.
For me, there is nowhere like the Island in summertime..that wild deep blue North Atlantic with the raging waves , the sand dunes covered with the thorniest wild roses, violet and/or white blossoms, most fragrant roses of all, with those wonderful dark orange rose hips..the deer at dusk and dawn..that was such a thill for a BLYN girl every summer... sneak out early mornings to hide in a blueberry bush and watch the deer and cottontails nibble at the dew drenched grass..
There was nothing on this earth my Dad loved more than to be chest deep in the Atlantic, surf casting for Stripers, Blues and Cod fish. I still have his surf rod, gave one of my Brothers the giant reel, he reeled in a record Tarpon with it out in the Pass..Dad would have been proud.
Rainy, you will laugh, one Christmas , homesick, I roasted a (Wisconsin?) duckling thinking it would be like dinner out on the Island..wrong !
God bless out Troops
