I caught the tail-end of Beach to Peach, at Shroom River. And I remember how good it felt. I remember the huge rain storm in the traffic jam outside the venue. And my one and only conversation with Tommy Cash. Met some great folks, missed several that I would catch up with later. Took 9 years before Bird and I finally crossed paths. Memories I'll carry from here on out.
But life reminds us that it's temporary.
You don't know what's around the corner, and you don't want to know. Car wrecks, sickness and disease, trees through your home. And new friends, new fun, more good times. My .02, make the most of what life offers you. Don't assume it will always be there, always be an option. And try to overlook the flaws and rudeness that all of us are guilty of here and there.
And a thanks once again to Lana and Rowland, and to the Allman Brothers Band, for all the fun.
