Happy Bithday to Mitzi! Marci, I saw Hendrix in concert in May of '69. I remember that he was irritated with people taking flash photographs of him during the show. The setlist was fairly standard. At the beginning of Foxy Lady, there was a rush to the stage, of people wanting to see the chording arrangements that he was playing. An unknown group called Chicago Transit Authority opened the show. They were impressive, and did a great version of Stevie Winwood's I'm a Man. Much later, I read that Hendix dug Terry Kath's playing, and recommended the group to be his opening act for the tour.
