All this baseball talk makes me think of the 3 greatest things that are American: The Constitution, Jazz, and Baseball. Yeah, maybe you could argue those 3 things existed in other shapeless forms, but is was America that placed a stamp on what it became for all time. My cousin was riding his Big Wheel one day and was run over by speeding teenagers...the drivers view was blocked by a kid sitting on the hood 'pointing' which way to go. A bunch of foolish kids laughing until my cousin got trapped between the exhaust and the road---each took turns peeling the skin. He should've died. Instead, some in Florida may recall a 6'5" quiet kid that pitched 3 shut outs, a matching team record, and was in 1990, a member of the Padres 40-man Roster. However, he never made the majors. The strike ended and his chance ended...his name is Darrin Reichle. Here is a salute to all those minor league players that on a good night could've shown the pros a thing or two!
