I thought it was a pretty damn good opening night! We got an original tune back in the set list that Warren and Gregg (?) wrote and the ABB performed back around 1992 or so. I could be wrong but think I'm in the right direction here - I'll check. Gregory's voice sounded as good and as strong as I can remember. Oteil is the man - I could feel his goodness all the way up in the balcony. Every one of the players had their moments. Kind of Bird - whoa! That really took me back, couldn't help but imagine Dickey playing it but this version was just fine! That has got to be one difficult song to play and Warren and Derek showed a lot of respect for the music on this tune. We are so lucky - all of these band members are individually "Hall of Fame" caliber and we get to see them all in the same band. It's good to be back in NYC and it was a blast seeing all the familiar faces! JNB
