Ya'll remember the butterfly garden Heddy and I dedicated to Brother Duane years ago??? Ya'll should have seen it this morning... Took a few hours off to grill spareribs and fixins.. next thing I know..Im gazing out at the garden... wild as Brother Duane..a cloud of glistening fur-spots catches my eye.. a young adult Bobcat has trapped himself in the chains of canals and waterways surrounding our home..perhaps he swam over from the Mangrove Forest..not sure..but he was beautiful! So young and healthy, he was all but electric, coat glowing in the rising sun slinking through the flowers.. The garden itself is wildly overgrown with summer...bunny rabbits everywhere..Dozens of Polydamus Butterflies...oddly bronze/black tailess swallowtails with a rim of golden spots edging their hind wings..Giant Swallowtails too , bright yellow and black with irredescent blue and coral spots, Longwing Zebras..Gulf Frits.. then to top it off..a Manta Ray , must have been 6 feet across..flying out of the water and through the morning mist ... causing Bobcat to scat into a Palmetto scrub, followed by the blowing swoosh of a Dolphin sliping in and out of the blue....a great morning...Ca
