Reading about the new cd's release date has me excited-again. Seems like the beacon actually would be the smartest time to release it. Insures a lot of ABB fans in one place, creating excitement and buying product. Maybe a morning apprearance on IMUS? Play outside on one of the morning shows? Live on Letterman on the off day? Perhaps that will translate into airplay.
Been thinking about the next step for the band. Seems to me the next step is for Derek to bring his considerable skills as writer/arranger to bear on the ABB. It's an entirely different writing assignment because of the history and unique talents involved. But how far away can a Trucks/Haynes or Trucks/Burbridge or Trucks/Haynes/Allman composition be and how will it push the band forward. I've been trying to imagine it and salivating at the possibility.
