"What kind of nut would go from Whitefish, Montana to NYC just to see a rock and roll show?" he said, knowing there was hate mail in his future. Same type of nut that would go from Alabama to NYC for a day, without a room. For the same reason 🙂 Seriously....I dropped in to thank the extended family for the support over the last couple weeks. This morning I got the ambulance company satisfied re insurance, and set up to access Mom's IRA. So I've got my arms back around life in general. Today I'll be spending the entire day at work, for the first time since Apr. 22. I got Mom in assisted living, got her all the stuff she needs, furniture, clothes, stuff. Got her affairs in order. Got the exit report from the Federal regulators (FINRA) that have been in our office Mon.-Wed. Sometimes you feel like you're on a raft in the ocean with nothing in sight, sometimes you feel like you're holding up the whole world and have to hold on no matter what. Last night I slept over 4 hours for the first time in two weeks. But my situation is not unique to me. I face the exact same thing many others deal with. And many others deal with much, much worse every day. In my case, (as in others) I don't have support network and must deal with it alone. And that's where the thanks to the extended family comes in. The posts here, the emails, the PMs, the phone calls. Nobody gets anything out of taking the time. Well, nobody but me. And it really matters. Knowing that somebody somewhere gives a damn can really make a difference, when you are tempted to give in and stop fighting. Duane Allman and the original members talked of a Brotherhood that was the foundation of not only the Allman Brothers Band, but what became opportunity for so many that came out of my culture. In recent years, some have alluded to that Brotherhood having ended. All things change with time, evolve. The Brotherhood Duane Allman birthed is still right there. It is perhaps in a different form. But the spirit of Brotherhood he birthed is making a difference to this very day. This I know. eapfp
