I met Red Dog once at Konocti Harbor Resort way up in Northern California when the band did a show there in late August with Jimmy Herring in the band.....2000?? it was way cold out and very windy but the band played anyway........ it was also one of the first times they had played Franklins Tower all the way thru with Oteil singing. anyway it was WAY cold out and true to form the RD was smarter than the "average bear" (hey Bo-Bo)........ he put together a "special homemade RD device" from a white towel. He took the towel and turned it into a combo hat and a rain sheild. He took the towel and then used some thick black tape to secure it around his head > Sheik Red Dog of Konocti Harbor was born!!! He was past hysterical fun > he was the best. But as the band got started into it's third or fourth song all of a sudden I see there was a ton of smoke coming from the under the towel.........hahaha > and he of course shared with me!! best to you Mr. Red Dog Campbell > have great day. 😎
