Howdy there peoples... just wanted to pass along some info/insights on some music that many of you may not know much about .. i work in a music store and have access to most all new releases etc etc well here is a cd set that defines the word SWING !!! Charlie Christian lived to be only 25 years old .. similar to other great talents that we all know and love (Duane,Jimi ,Stevie Ray,Woody, ETC... the list goes on... people who passed to early in life) But what Charlie Christain left was some amazing ground breaking guitar work that even now sounds like he was from another planet !!! You old timers might remember the word Benny Goodman when you were a kid... your parents or gram and gramps music think 40's jazz/swing... Charlie Christain recorded in a 2 year period between 1939-1941 and blew down the doors for what is now known as modern improvasion he simply was the best .... Derek Trucks named his son after him ...as for the packaging it rates as a big *%#KIN ZERO looks can be decieving... on the outside its looks as great as the music inside but if you buy be careful because you will soon have $45.00 of cds on the floor no slip covers no jewel boxes just stuck in some cheesy foam shit ARGH!!! anyway its some kick ass music that deserves a chance to kick yer shoes off and jam to ... also has warren haynes and derek trucks insights in the liner notes ... peach out... big dave.. grinn damn it !!!
