Wow. What a night it must have been for those in the house!!
I remember so clearly being at sweet sister Jody's house a few years back. She was online finding out the set list from the Beacon show the night before and says "Guess what they played? LAYLA!" I remember the thrill just hearing about it and then feeling the chill a week later when they played it again and I was there. Even knowing it was a possibility didn't deminish the charge those first notes sent through the crowd.
Then sweet Jody and I, again, got chills at the EC show with Derek so deservedly in the spotlight. Another set of Layla goosebumps.
The dTb and Soul Stew adopt a bunch of D&D tunes and carry the torch.
Now EC is on the Beacon stage-with the Allman Brothers.
Yeah, baby. Sure, there is plenty to be pissed off about these days but stuff like this offers up the opportunity to let all that go and just fly. Folks that don't recognize that are missing out on a huge gift cuz lord knows....reality comes back soon enough!
Looking forward leavin' my blues at home and enjoying the company of a bunch of you good folk tomorrow!!!
