Greetings one and all from a cold and soggy Savannah, Ga. Long time fan of The Allman Brothers Band. This is my first time posting. I hope to pop in now and then to share my memories and experiences with you all. I first heard of The Brothers in early December 1969 and first heard them on record Christmas morning 1969. Probably around 7am. Yes I remember this because of the profound affect they had on my life musically. They replaced The Beatles as my favorite band and I think that was quite an accomplishment! I had the bitter-sweet pleasure of seeing them in concert twice in 1972. Bitter because I never had a chance to see Duane play and sweet because I did get to see Berry on those two occasions. Both concerst were in Jacksonville, FL. 1/30/1972 and 7/30/1972. The lastest that I have seen them was 9/17/2002 here in Savannah. Although the turn out was less than spectacular, The Brothers played a fantastic set. The crowd was not huge but we were very loud and most appreciative. I hope we conveyed our appreciation to The Band. Well that's my introduction. Best to All.
