Reddog, Where should I send the "cheese platter" to? Sounds like you're having a helluva "whine" party. Sorry I missed the invite. Once again Gregg has been consistent over the years about Dickey not returning or playing with the Allman Brothers Band, and the fact is, Dickey hasn't played with the Allman Brothers Band since he was asked to leave the band. Now YOU have described Gregg has a person who speaks with a "fork tongue" (your words Reddog), so are we to assume that Gregg doesn't know what he's talking about or that he's a liar, in regards to whether or not Dickey will be at the Beacon? Also, WHY would Dickey Betts want to play with the Allman Brothers Band again at this point in time, especially as a "Guest"? What's in it for him? I know you're trying to stand up for Dickey, and I admire you for doing so, but nevertheless you don't seem to mind cutting into Gregg and Butch and ABB management in trying to make your case for Dickey to be playing at this year's Beacon show. Btw, I'm not going to dig up the thing you said along those lines, as anybody interested can scroll back through the GB and Forums and find that information for themselves. In closing, unless there is some sort of a public statement from Gregg, or Butch, or Jaimoe about Dickey playing at this year's Beacon show, then I'm going to believe what Gregg's said about Dickey not playing with the ABB still holds. Bottom line, this is decision that rest completely between Gregg, Butch, Jaimoe and Dickey and nobody else. And what you and I or anybody else around here thinks or wants doesn't really matter.
