Hi gang. I have really never posted here in the guestbook, but once that I can remeber. I come here at the suggestion of my buddy Hophead. Most of my posts on this site are on the forum. Hophead says many kind hearted folks who post here, send prayers and good vibes towards those in need. Well, I don't mean to sound needy, and usually don't ask for much help, but we DO need some of those prayers and good vibes. My daughter Jessica (named after the Brother's song), age 16, was almost killed in a car crash this past January. She sustained a fractured skull, brain injuries, a badly fractured arm, and a dislocated shoulder. She was hospitalized for 2 1/2 months. Her frontal and temporal lobes were injured. While she has recovered from a very dark place, she is still having problems with emotional issues. Her emotions are often unable to be checked, and things overheat. It's hard enough being 16, but add to that a brain injury in the area of the brain that controls emotions and social, behavior and you have a big problem. Most of her "friends" have deserted her. We are dealing now with depession about dreams lost, and goals un-met, and lost "friends". She has been an All Star softball player since age 8 but that's over now. She was hoping for a college scholarship in the sport and had a good chance. She played guitar before the accident as well, but has no desire to play anymore. I have enlisted the help of some of the folks I meet writing for a Southern Rock magazine to try and rekindle that in her, but so far nothing has worked. Autographed photos from "BIG" stars asking her to play again, as an outlet for the sadness and pain, but she has no desire to play. We can live with one guitarist in the house, but it sure was nice to jam with her. She is just so blessed to be here, walking and talking. Mom and Dad are very blessed to have her with us! She is working hard on regaining math skills and other cognative skills. I'm happy to say she made Honor Roll first semester at a very tough school, so her mind is rebuilding itself in those ways. The emotional scars may take years to heal we've been told, and may bever be the same again. We see therapists 2 times a week now as a family and it help a bit. It has been a long haul for us, and any prayers or good wishes would be so appreciated. As I mentioned I am hesitant to ask, but I do so in a spirit of friendship and the desire for help. We are so blessed that she lived, we have been reluctant to ask for much more. We had prayer groups going all over the country when the accident happened. I'm convinced that's what pulled her through. So with a heavy and humble heart, I come here to ask for your prayers for Jessica, my wife, and myself. You guys have been so nice to me here and the vibe is so cool on this site, I am really appreciative to have been led here. Thank ya kindly for reading this. God Bless all, Thanks for the suggestion Hophead...I feel like this will help. Michael "RedTail Wolf"
