took at lickin but still tickin..Lots of added colour now , each building a different shade of Key-West lime/peach/turquoise/pink, etc...
the Harbor is still breathe-taking, esp at Sunset and Moonrise..
Mitch, you would never recognize Punta Gorda and/or Edgewater Drive in Charlotte Harbor/Port Charlotte..
those charming -pink FLA houses that dotted the streetscapes along the
Edgewater Drive have given way to monsterous mansions that look like any second they wil fall into the sea.
More and more huge developements cut into the Mangrove Forests....one named for our very own BLD...Leah Marie Island...( brings a 🙂 to my Irish eyes everytime I drive by...)
Punta Gorda is worse, the waterviews from HWY 41 are now blocked by PG's version of skyscraper hotels and garages..so sad, except for a beautiful new auditorium at the mouth of the Peace River that looks promising, and what I hear is a fine new theatre on the grounds of the old home of the Fighting Tarpons..Ashley is there to see Puss in Boots/play , today..
El Jobean is my new love...Still quaint, and folksy with old FLA charm, gorgeous Gulf breezes..I can hear the mullet jumping in Tippeecanoe Bay when I step out back..My neighbors ride up in golf carts to say hello and God bless..Loving it.
hind-sight being 20-20..We'd have built to live in El Jobean, and businessed in Punta Gorda ..
Love to the world's greatest wife...
Beautiful Peachies..please keep your hearts open and pray for a little Immokalee boy of 6 years ..the capacity of a 2 year old..He has been missing since saturday, temps here expected to plummet to near freezing tonight.. He and his family are in desperate need of prayers...Ca
