Not to rip too deply, but I think the Arkestra was slighted by not having a chase/spot light operator. In addition to some trippy musical stuff ... the dancing led to gymnastics, which led to a parade around the aisles! I don't think some of the audience even noticed some of this stuff.
In Kirk's introduction he said, "Rolling Stone Magazine called them "the missing link between Duke Ellington and Public Enemy ...". If you GOT it, it was spiritual.
