Philly, I know what you say has some truth to it. The sell out thing is blown out of proportion. Paper a lot of the gigs, they do. Beer drinkers make up the difference. Paper mean get in free to buy the over high priced beer. If the people had to buy a ticket and the beer, I am sure we would see something a little different. Now about the band and Dickey. If things were like you say, then why all the different deals going on, with each going separate ways? The band has said they are taking off for a while after this tour. I doubt if they will really ever come back. A gig here and a gig there. Butch will not be able to keep up the train any more. He is getting along in age and wearing the bode out. Jaimoe's body has not been his best friend in the last ten years. Gregg is a little younger and can sing. Not saying people will not be able to play. Just not like the shows they put on now. I do not think they are any bodies fool. They are taking time off and will need a nest egg to keep them in the style they are used to. I am sure Betts could use the boost. So with that said, they can make money without him. The other side is they can make a bundle with him as a guest. Now, I never thought I would be seeing this, but the band has gone the money route. That is for sure. That being the case, then why would they not cash in on the way out. At least go out with style and class. Not to add a pocket full of green backs.
