I think I am one of only two that ever was banned from this Site (and perhaps the first of two); that was many years ago, I fought Butchie directly here. In the end, the truth came out from that. I lost some so called friends along the way. Butch and I agreed to disagree. When Betts came to town shortly thereafter, I arranged for Topper Price to come down with me, and he sat in with Betts. That was a very wierd time in life for the Band. It was a very intense time in my own life also. Looking back, that event needed to happen because Topper was about to leave us and we did not realize that. Life is like that. I was allowed to come back here, and with a better appreciation of this Site and the crap Lana and Rowland put up with. Not to say I like the politics, and I am farrrr from PC, but, I have a better appreciation "to keep the fire" at a slightly less intense level. Thats cool (no pun). My point here is to echo what Red Dog has said. We keep the fire but we respect some boundry. My opinion is with the fact we chaff the hell out of Butch and push his buttons, he reads those hard lines as well as the happy birthdays. He may even understand we love him although some (like me) rarely agree with his processing. Thats cool also. In the end, I trust he gets some measure of value to the core of these posts. I am of the opinion that Butch at this stage of his life will not focus on the personality side playing with Betts, rather , in his musical soul he will put that aside and understand this WILL be the FINAL opportunity to make the music speak again. In this ecomony, for folks to plan to spend about a thousand dollars a pop to see the Brothers at the Beacon, that is a huge deal in and of itself. If everyone here will speak of the music and the vibe, we can overcome the bitterness. I know it and believe it. Butch...you, Gregg, JJ, and Betts hold the key. We know you are reading, and we know you are thinking. Understand that all folks are asking for is to make the music one last time the old school way. After that, you all can say the circle is complete and go about your lives. We can say thank you, and it will be a win-win. In the process...at that moment, I ask one small favor: IF you guys are able to do the gig, and you feel you have gone to that place (you know what I am talking albout), do me a favor and nod. I just would want to know you made it there. I'll be the one out there smiling my ass off. Thanks. Rick
