Rick n' RedDog - MY drum kit will make you smile, scowl, or at least scratch something while you think about which to do. :uhoh:
And I bought it with my very own tomato pottin', hanging basket makin', azalea waterin', peat moss loadin' money.
Brand new, Yellow Tiger Pearl Slingerland. Rogers DynaSonic snare, with the 'real deal' Zildjians all around. In 1968.
In '69 I added a 9x13 tom to the 8x12, and hating to remove the curved mounting bracket for the LEFT tom, I just added another one to the RIGHT side of the kick drum for the new tom. So, for nearly 40 years now, I've played a drum kit with the widest cleavage you've EVER seen. 😮
I bought Slingerland because that's what Buddy Rich played when I saw him in Little Rock in '67. You remember the monogramed 'shield' emblem that BR and other Big Band drummers used to have on their front Kick heads? Well, Mrs. Chandler, my High School art teacher, put a

on mine. In 1968.
I still play it TODAY! And it sounds pretty good to me. Maybe because I'm a 56 year old 1/2 deaf drummer, and I sit behind it anyway ..............
