nice--i love & respect Warren,but in a strange way i like him at this point with Mule or when he's sitting in for full sets with the Dead & Phil's band.He is also the master of covers.
He was most clearly a major contributer to the freshness of the reunion after '89 & i have deep love & admiration for his talent,his range of abilities & all he is doing to be a part of that which continues to make the ABB so vital to this day.
Where Warren fits in relation to Duane--a 1 of a kind ,original,player of massive genius & soul..the king of FEEL, or Derek,a true genius with a sound of silk & human emotion, or Dickey--a multi talented ,versatile player with a tone of beauty & a country/blues thing i love, or Jack given his technique,particular feel,& pure talent level---who knows--as Dickey said this ain't no competition & i certainly lack the skills to judge anymore than my ole ears hear.
It is a blessing to be able to listen to all this healing & emotive high quality music 40 years down the road!!
