lee - I whole-heartedly agree with you about both Rocking Horse and Soulshine being overplayed. Might be time to give 'em a rest, or at least cut down on the frequency of them. I too believe that Rocking Horse is much more of a Mule song than an ABB song, despite the fact that the ABB does tear it up and Gregg co-writing it and all. But for me, it's not just the frequency of Rocking Horse showing up in setlists, it's also the fact that there are so many other Warren-sung songs that get neglected as a result, many of which I think are better songs than Rocking Horse. I mean, considering that Rocking Horse is up to 11-15 minutes long, we maybe could even get two other Warren songs on a given night if they'd put R.H. aside. And I'm not saying put it on the shelf altogether, but how 'bout playing it, say for example, about as often as "Bullets Fly" gets played? But I also sorta think the setlists this past summer, on a night-to-night basis anyway, were a bit less "adventuresome" than I think the boys are capable of. But perhaps that's a whole other topic of conversation.
Maybe the Beacon '03 will bring different results and some nice surprises. 😀
