Bup...
You know, it takes a huge amount of trust for any guitar player to reach out and float upon their emotions....the barriers of the mind, the musical barriers associated with the conflict in your mind of coming back to the downbeat...prohibit musicians often from reaching. The synapse from heart to fingers is interrupted by the brain.
The rare occasions I get to play with Brent, I want him to have that trust. He reaches, and man that fuels this soul. Not to pump sunshine up his skirt, but he is one of a very few local musicians that reach...without noodling. Mark Kimbrell and Rick Kurtz are others that when they play I can hear their stories.
So to reach, there has to be an equal amount of trust in my opinion. That is also why the Brothers are so rare. Maybe Duane felt he could trust those guys musically and he knew what he had assembled.
Hardly any Band has that complete trust. Ironically, I think U2 is another band where that trust exists. Edge has really played from his heart before and I admire that.
