That is a real post? If the bitching centers around a water bottle, even bringing that up is a joke. POB is the one that needs to grow up. Honestly, I cannot put an Allman fan and 2 minute minute tune in the same context. If so, then that "fan" has more than likely a Greatest Hits CD as their ABB collection. Frankly, the Brothers would because of age be viable candidates to go to the abbreviated arrangements, but I am proud to say they have not. Most bands shorten their arrangements as time moves forward. This Band continues to have something to say, and I appreciate their "jams". Speaking of jamming, I kinda wish that term were not so freely used when speaking of ABB music. Personally, I equate "jamming" to noodling. Storytelling. Duane had the passion. Dickey tells a story. There were times when his playing literally painted a picture in my mind...I felt as though Dickey was really trying to play from some previous experience in his life or create a picture. In the context of passion and hitting the note, does the word "jam" fit? Not in my opinion. When the music transports you, as player or otherwise, you encounter a surreal experience and seek to regain that feeling. Its not a jam at that point....its something and somewhere else.
