It is rather amusing to me to read some of the negative commentary on the band from some folks, many of whom likely are very new to this forum. I wonder what exactly is their point? If you don't like it, don't come here. It's a free country. Why insist on raining on everyone else’s parade? Why spend excessive time on something that's a negative to you? There are plenty of other bands out there to find one that suits your taste. This is our band and we love it. That’s why WE’RE here.
Don’t come into my living room, complain about my decorating and pee on my carpet.
I wouldn't go to the Brittany Spears site (or any pop artist) and incessantly complain that she's too pop and she should jam more. That would be ludicrous. Pop artists don’t jam. It’s not what they do. And that’s okay. It’s not my thing so I won’t go there.
Our band jams. That’s what THEY do. That’s why I’m here. It’s what I like.
On one hand the negative bunch is somewhat amusing, but after a while it gets annoying to have to wade through that to see the good things that I come here for.
Don’t even get me started on the Dickey thing. It is such a touchy topic around here. It’s like the middle east conflict to roe vs, wade. If you believe one way or another, there’s little chance of changing your mind. Personally, I love the ABB and I love Dickey too, but they have parted ways and I accept that. I’ll see either one every time I have the opportunity. I don’t want to make decisions for the bands, I just want to dig them.
Hopefully if any of the ABB stops here to read posts, (I know Butch does on occasion), I wouldn’t worry too much about the bashers or take them too seriously. Some folks just like to complain for whatever reason. I guess that provides their happiness. I just wish they’d do it elsewhere. I guess if that ever got to me, I’d stop coming here too.
As far as the ABB itself is concerned, they just need to heed the words of former Buffalo Bill’s football coach Marv Levy. He used to say something to the effect of; “If you listen to the fans too much, you’ll soon find yourself sitting with them.”
