Bup...man that is too funny or I meant to say owsom. Im sure some radio out there took that personally for being labeled as stupid. I have had a craving lately...back in the long hair days I was an all nighter disc jockey for WERC radio in Birmingham, and it was so much fun. "Rick Shaw" was my air name, and that along with free tickets and t-shirts and a special lady friend who would stop by about 1AM for some record cleaning and vinyl training was quite a fun gig. Those were good times; we had a director that would take an album, and cut with a key the cuts he did not want us to play, so we brought in our own stash and said f&&& him. I played so much ABB stuff than I care to recall. I wish I could find some blow torch FM station that would let an old fart like me bring my vinyl in and do a gig for free. I bet that would be a hoot and lot of fun to let some of these kids hear the stuff they have never heard before and keep the music very narrow....say 1969 to 1977 ish. I would call Red Dog every saturday evening and get his ass on the air and tell stories in the key of life while playing some awsome reed in the background. And let the road ladies call in and ask Red Dog questions, and just get this mellow rap going while playing some awsome music. Now how fun would that be? Back in the day, I saw some really awsome DJ's "create the vibe" during their shows and learned a lot from that...how to make music create a certain vibe and stay in that particular zone for about an hour's worth of music..then create another vibe the following hour, yada.
