I heard about Tom Dowd from Derek Trucks himself...on the radio, that is. I had tuned in to Z93 to hear the DTB play at Jake's Roadhouse, and was saddened to hear about the loss of the world's greatest musical midwife. I thought it very classy that Derek dedicated their set to Dowd. Jeff Dunham, the Z93 DJ, was being very gracious and complimentary to Derek, but all Derek wanted to talk about was what a great producer and human being Tom Dowd was. In honor of that, I will offer up my usual Analog Tape offering of the DTB set from last night. It was a fairly short radio broadcast set, but the band definitely kicked it up a notch in memory of Tom Dowd. As filler I have added a great Fiji Mariners show from 1995 with Derek sitting in. I will do my best to accomodate all interested parties. RIP Tom Dowd
