Jody-girl..really great news! thanks for sharing....and on january 8 no less... magic day today...breakfast at Ashley's elementary school, PTO Mama's handed me 2010 upcoming schedule..It seems the children were so inspired when Ashley and I donated our hair at the school (to Locks Of Love) that they have asked for a special day on the 2010 calender to do the same...In fact, they are hoping to make it an annual event. Understand, the school is in "East County" away from the "surf" ...Cattle and Orange Groves, long haired Country children, many havent had a haircut to date. I will forever be grateful to the beautiful Brothers and Sisters that surprised Kevin and I way back when in Macon GA, when they dedicated a memorial monument and darling little Japanese Maple tree to Heather's memory, and donated their long, beautiful , and turned to us and cheered, "for Heather". anyway...the thing that was most amazing to me, and unbeknownst to these children and PTO Mamas, was the day they chose to hold this event. March 13. the exact day Heather flew away. These lovely little children , innocent and sweet, cannot imagine how much their quest to do something to make this a better world, has brought Joy into my heart. I know I am day early, but I am thinking of a friend who held out her hand and helped Kevin and I in our dark days of grief, herself knowing only too well the pain we were feeling.
