Sorry to interrupt all this "brotherhood'' talk, but I just felt like saying that It’s gonna be a great summer in the Delawhere Valley. It started when the first ABB show of the summer was announced, at the Camden Waterfront on August 23. Then came the news that the Mule will play the beautiful Grand Opera House in Wilmington on July 24. The Grand is a Beacon-esque place with great acoustics and not a bad seat in the house. I saw DTB there a couple of years ago and it was great. Then just this week it was announced that the Soul Stew Revival is going to play at Longwood Gardens, about 20 minutes north of Wilmington, on July 2. For those who don’t know, Longwood Gardens used to be a sprawling DuPont estate and is now one of the most famous gardens in the world. It also has a nice, intimate outdoor amphitheater and, once again, there won’t be a bad seat. So anyone who is close enough, jump at the chance to catch this show. I’ve been to concerts there before and it’s a great experience. You can arrive early, tour the magnificent gardens and horticultural exhibits, and even eat at one of the two restaurants on the premises, then stroll over to the show (make that shows – Scrapomatic opens for Derek and Susan). Trust me, you’ll love it. And the best news of all – I already have tickets to all three shows! Now all I need to hear is that Dickey is going to make a First State appearance and the summer will be perfect… OK, you can go back to the arguing...
