Did anyone watch the CMT Crossroads special last night with Hank Williams Jr. and Kid Rock?
They opened the show with "Midnight Rider." Never thought I'd see Kid Rock playing a brothers tune.
It did segue into one of his own tunes in rather bizzarre way. He was singing the lyric, "never gona catch the midnight rider, never gonna catch me, no....................because, I'm a Cowboy Baaby."
It was a very odd show w/ Hank and the Kid, however, they played mostly Hank tunes with interviews in between. The kid actually isn't bad. Apparently he grew up listening to Hank, and somehow they are now friends.
Check out Hank's new disc, "Almeria Club." They did a tune off of it last night with a line that goes, "In country music you can't say the F word..." I almost fell out of my chair laughing.
If they repeat the show, try to catch it. Pretty funny and entertaining stuff.
