Lana, Abigail has been following Windchill's progress ever since I showed her the story. She just filled me in on the update a few minutes ago. I have a horse story to share too... A couple of years ago we noticed a house that we pass by into town had ben putting up a fence around their back yard. They had a problem with dogs running everywhere and unfortunately a few that had bee hit by cars, so we assumed they were putting up a fence for the dogs. A week or so later we go by there and see a horse running around their backyard. No barn, shed or any shelter of any kind except one tree in the back corner. It was reported to the town animal control officer by myself and quite a few folks in the community. As the weeks went on there was a tarp hung with two poles and tied to the tree. Then we noticed that every time a car went by that horse would run to the corner of the fence near the road. We used to drive by and throw a few apples out over the fence. All this time still trying to get animal control to do something. Then I was buying horse feed and Abi and I were sneaking out there at night feeding this horse. We started to see other folks stopping by at night doing the same. Park the car up the street and walk back down and feed the horse. Finally we drove by there one afternoon on the way to soccer and saw the animal control officer, the police, and a truck with a horse trailer. After soccer on the way home the horse was gone. The police report the next day had the guilty culprits listed with 11 charges each of animal cruelty/neglect stemming from the horse as well as each dog they had. We were glad something was finally done after all the persistance!:) Although I did have to explain to Abi about trespassing on private property.
