Hey everybody!
Thanks for all of the nice congratulatory notes. Elizabeth is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen...with apologies to my beautiful wife. And yes, she does indeed have red hair. The nurses joked that she also has my hairline, although I assume that will change.
:boomerang:
Mother and child are doing fine back at home now. Labor was pretty quick--about four hours from the first serious contraction to delivery. In fact, for awhile there I was pretty sure she was going to enter this world in the front seat of my car while we sat in rush hour traffic on Highway 70 between Durham and Raleigh. We checked into the hospital a little after 4:00, and she was born at 4:31. Three good pushes was all it took!
I've got to hand it to Nicole, she was a rock star. Did the whole thing without so much as a Tylenol. I thought she was going to rip my arm off at one point (strong grip on that one, let me tell you!), and she cursed a blue streak that would make a sailor blush, but she did it.
Anyway, thanks again, and I'll check in again with periodic updates. One thing I can say about Elizabeth, though, is that she is a BIG eater! Just like her Dad.
