I wake in the morning thinking about days gone by. I hear Duane and Dickey in my head this morning. It's amazing how they could both be soloing at the same time and making what they played fit inside the others. One making what they other played sound better and adding to it. No battle, just good sex. I remember this was the first time in modern music for this to happen. Two lead guitar player in the same band. Not just that they were the first but it was what they did with it. I have heard other great guitar players trying to do the same thing. They do a great job, but till this day I have not heard anybody get close to what they did. No ego. I said to Dickey one time, that it look like they were f***ing. He said they were. I just don't think it gets any better than that.
