another great show! Ratdog was a little on the mellow side, but that’s ok. ABB came out jammin with You Don’t Love Me. From the point where they played Franklin’s Tower, with Ratdog, all the way to the end with Whippin Post, was mind blowingly great. It was worth the drive from Tucson to Denver. I haven’t ordered the CD yet, but I heard it’s available on Instant Live. I’ll be sure to order it. I look forward to Beacon in 2009 (hopefully). ABB just keeps me living, can’t wait till the next show. Too bad they don’t play in my neighborhood anymore. I just travel to see them, problem solved!
Corrected set list.
MattLenda pointed out the second song is not Desdemona. It’s Leave My Blues At Home. Thanks for the correction.
I have the recordings from the show and disagree with “Desdemona” for the second track.
However, you seemed to fill in the rest of the unknowns for me! Thanks!
Here’s what I’ve come up with for a set list:
You Don’t Love Me
Desdemona
Les Brers
Don’t Keep Me Wonderin’
It Takes A Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train To Cry
I Ain’t Superstitious (w/ Susan)
Don’t Think Twice Cause It’s Allright (Susan sings)
Dreams
Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad?>
Franklin’s Tower (w/ Weir and Ratdog members, and Quinones’ son?)
Melissa
Black-Hearted Woman
Mountain Jam>O’teil>drums>Mountain Jam>Dazed and Confused>Mountain Jam
encore Whippin’ Post
It was an epic and beautiful night at Red Rocks!
I hope your travel was worth it! I thought the show was fantastic. Great set list. The whole “Dazed and Confused” shoved into “Mountain Jam” thing was well done… heh.
The recording done by the folks at Red Rocks is a little low in volume and I’m currently experimenting with equalization settings on it, but it’s not cloudy at all. They captured all the notes! However, the second disc starts in the middle of their cover of “Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad”, which is unfortunate, but hey, that happens.
I’ve got recordings of the Red Rocks shows in 2005 and 2006 as well; 2005 sounds like a true live album, 2006 is a little quiet and cloudy. I’d put the recording for this show somewhere between 2005 and 2006, closer to 2005. 😀
There are still some track names I’m not familiar with. Hopefully this site’s set list will be updated quickly, unless someone here knows every song they played… (?)
Cheers.
Ratdog’s set>
Help On The Way>Slipknot
Loser with Derek Trucks
Bird Song with Warren Haynes
Loose Lucy with Warren Haynes

ENCORE:
Not Fade Away
Since I had tix to the Beacon this year (would have been 6th year in a row) and the shows were cancelled, I’m going to Red Rocks! Red Rocks is closer to Tucson, so I can drive there. I hope to see others camping too. I’m getting excited and hope Gregg feels well, and that he recovered from the Hepatitis scare. I hope good tapers will be taping this show.
